  • Bank deposit distance: the passport guide notes that Ameris Bank is located 5 minutes away by car (“Tenga en cuenta el banco se encuentra a 5 minutos de distancia en automóvil. No se aceptan pagos con cheques”, checked October 17, 2026).

  • Minor passport birth record: the passport guide specifies for minors an original birth record («partida»), which is returned; certificates are not accepted (“no se aceptan certificados sino partidas”, checked October 17, 2026).

  • Commercial and cultural emails: the contact and hours page publishes dedicated emails for the commercial section (comercial_catla@mrecic.gov.ar) and cultural section (cultural_catla@mrecic.gov.ar) (checked October 17, 2026).

  • Appointments (passport and DNI): requested only online through the Sistema Nacional de Turnos on the Mi Argentina platform. This replaces booking by email or phone. Appointment types:

  • In person: the passport is a personal procedure that requires physical presence (signature, fingerprint and photo). Bring originals; photocopies are not accepted. For applicants under 18, the minor and both parents must be present. If a parent is absent or deceased, present, as applicable, a notarized authorization (duly legalized and apostilled where applicable), a death certificate or a guardian appointment.

  • Fees:

    • Passport: USD 165, for adults and minors (page updated 02/03/2026).
    • DNI: US$ 15 abroad (page updated 09/08/2024).
    • If the DNI address is not updated within the jurisdiction, a new DNI with change of address is requested the same day as the passport, at an additional cost of u$d15.

  • Payment (on the appointment day):

    • Electronic, by credit or debit card or payment link, with a provider surcharge (“recargo del prestador del servicio de 3,25%”).
    • In-person bank deposit at Ameris Bank, after a stop at the consulate to collect the payment slip.
    • “No se aceptan pagos con cheques.”

  • Passport delivery: if RENAPER raises no observations, delivery takes an estimated two to three months. The consulate notifies the holder by email. Pickup requires the Constancia de Trámite and a valid ID. For a minor, both parents must attend pickup unless both signed an express authorization during the application allowing delivery to either parent alone.

  • Mail delivery: holders living more than 150 miles from the consulate may request it by emailing the constancia. The consulate then sends instructions for a prepaid UPS or USPS label (not a prepaid envelope or pick-up service) and a liability-release note to sign.

  • Mobile consulate: the site announced that on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026 the consulate would travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to take DNI and passport applications.

  • Remaining 2026 closures: the consulate is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, except on its listed non-working days (calendar updated 23/01/2026). The remaining ones are October 12, November 11, November 23, November 26, November 27, December 8 and December 25.
