What the consulate’s own site says (checked October 16, 2026)
Payment mechanisms (money order or QR): the office’s payment page states that any procedure can be paid using a money order payable to “Consulate of Argentina” (purchased at 7-Eleven, post offices, supermarkets, or banks) or via a consular QR code provided at the appointment; both payment methods apply a small transaction fee (“fee”, checked October 17, 2026).
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00; “al público 9:00 a 13:00 / general 9:00 a 18:00” (public service 9:00 to 13:00), per the contact page.
Phones: main line 00 1 (323) 954 9155; “Celular de guardia” (emergency mobile) 00 1 (323) 459 9780.
Consul General: Héctor María Monacci.
Passport appointment: the regular-passport page (updated 10/03/2026) links to the turno request. The passport is “un trámite personal y presencial” for Argentines with habitual residence in the jurisdiction; fingerprints, photo and signature are taken at the office.
Passport fee: 165 dólares, paid at the office once the appointment is assigned, “por alguno de los medios de pago admitidos”; the passport page does not list those methods, and the payment page lists money order or QR (see above).
Proof of address (adults): required only if the DNI does not show an address in this consulate’s jurisdiction.
Combined DNI + passport: when the applicant’s DNI has no address in the jurisdiction, a new DNI is processed together with the passport (trámite “COMBINADO”), with its own appointment link on the same page.
Delivery: RENAPER produces the passport in Buenos Aires and sends it to the consulate “entre 45 y 90 días corridos” (45 to 90 calendar days).
Passport for a child under 18 at this consulate
The consulate’s regular-passport page, read October 15, 2026, requires the presence of the minor and both parents, the child’s latest DNI with the age update that applies (5/8 years or 14 years), a current proof of address, the previous passport if the child has one (otherwise a police report of its loss or theft), the child’s original birth certificate and both parents’ current DNIs. The same page lists alternatives when a parent is absent or deceased (a notarized authorization, a death certificate or a guardianship appointment, as applicable), and a parent who is a foreign national presents a valid passport and the identity document shown on the child’s birth certificate. For adults whose ID is still the green-booklet DNI, or the Libreta de Enrolamiento or Libreta Cívica, the same page says a new card DNI comes first and the passport is processed on a second visit.
