The list below has 15 Peruvian consulates-general in 12 US states — the offices the Peruvian diaspora uses for passports, national-ID service, and civil-registry paperwork — plus Peru’s embassy in Washington and its two permanent missions (Washington and New York), and the two honorary consulates described below.
Honorary consulates. Peru’s consulates-general also publish lists of Peruvian consulates run by honorary consuls. Two have pages here: the honorary consulate in Oklahoma City, listed by the Dallas consulate-general, and the honorary consulate in San Juan, Puerto Rico, listed by the Miami consulate-general (both lists read 2026-10-15). They are not counted among the 15 consulates-general.
Procedures available at a Peruvian consulate
- Peru passport (first issuance, renewal, replacement)
- DNI via RENIEC — Peru has no separate consular ID
- Birth, marriage, death certificates (transcription / apostille)
- Registering US-born children for dual citizenship
- Power of attorney for transactions in the home country
- Voting from abroad (when applicable)
- Consular protection in legal or emergency cases
