The New York City Field Office is one of the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) field offices that supervise detention and removal operations across the United States. This office oversees 2 detention facilities physically located in: NY.

Each ICE ERO field office has a defined Area of Responsibility (AOR). ICE’s field-office directory (updated Sep 2, 2026) lists this office’s AOR as: The five boroughs (counties of NYC) and the following counties: Duchess, Nassau, Putnam, Suffolk, Sullivan, Orange, Rockland, Ulster, and Westchester. It lists the office at 26 Federal Plaza, 9th Floor, Suite 9-110, New York, NY 10278, phone (212) 436-9315. The same directory states that ICE’s field offices are not check-in locations; to find a check-in location, schedule or change an appointment, or update an address, ICE points to its ICE Check-in page. For further assistance after contacting the field office, ICE points to its ERO Contact Form or the ICE Detention and Reporting and Information Line, 1-888-351-4024. A non-citizen physically arrested in one AOR may be transferred to a detention facility in another AOR; ICE policy requires notice of transfer but does not require advance notice to family or attorneys.

ICE check-in locations listed under the New York Field Office

ICE publishes check-in locations in a Check-In Locations directory that is separate from its field-office directory. That directory (marked “Updated: 03/04/2025”; checked October 15, 2026) lists 1 check-in location with the New York Field Office as the parent office. Addresses, phone numbers, appointment times and coverage areas below are ICE’s text as published. To schedule or change a check-in appointment or update an address, ICE points to its ICE Check-in page.

How transfers between field offices work

ICE may transfer a detainee from a facility in one ERO field office’s AOR to a facility in another AOR for operational reasons (bed-space availability, medical needs, removal-flight staging). PBNDS 2011 standard 7.4 (Detainee Transfers) states that “[t]he legal representative-of-record shall be notified as soon as practicable, but no later than 24 hours after the detainee is transferred, in accordance with sound security practices.” That standard sets no deadline for updating the Online Detainee Locator System — it does not mention ODLS at all — and ICE publishes no ODLS refresh interval anywhere, so after a transfer a family should check locator.ice.gov repeatedly rather than treat one empty result as final. Family members are not notified directly.
