Oversight and inspections

2025 inspection. ICE’s Lexington County, South Carolina report covers July 9 to August 7, 2025, including an on-site visit on August 7, 2025. It used USMS Federal Performance Based Detention Standards (FPBDS) (May 2025). ODO found no deficiencies and compliance with all 21 inspected standards. The report says the August 2024 corrective-action plan was completed, but ODO could not conduct a trend analysis because the standards changed.

August 6 to 8, 2024 special review. The 2024 Lexington County report used NDS 2019; ODO says its assigned rating is for ERO’s information purposes only. Its conclusion first states 12 deficiencies in 3 standards, then refers to 13 deficiencies later in the same conclusion; the report contains that discrepancy.

Separate PREA audit. The final PREA report gives on-site dates of 2023-06-12 through 2023-06-13, with final submission on August 19, 2023. It lists 3 standards exceeded, 42 met and 0 not met.
