Immigration court information

Booking legal visits, video calls, and legal calls

- Request confidential legal calls at Legal.GTMO@ice.dhs.gov; officers reply with a confirmed date and time.
- ICE asks that the email include the representative’s full name, phone and email, detainee’s name and alien number, and proposed dates and times.
- Attach government-issued identification and proof of active legal-representative status, such as a bar card, attorney license or paralegal license.
- Include a G-28 scan or confirmation of submission through ERO eFile, except for a pre-representational call.
- If a legal assistant joins alone, also attach authorization on firm or organization letterhead and the assistant’s ID.
- Request calls 24 hours ahead; slots are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST, Saturday through Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., in 20-minute increments.
- A representative may request multiple calls, but may not have more than one 60-minute appointment with a detainee in a single day.
- Only legal representatives, legal assistants and interpreters may join legal calls; family and friends may not join.
- Recording calls by video or audio is prohibited for legal representatives and their staff.
- For legal-document delivery, ICE says: “Documents for delivery should generally not exceed 20 pages, but requests to deliver more than 20 pages will be considered on a case-by-case basis.”
- When timely postal communication is not possible, the administrator may allow a reasonable amount of email communication with the designated legal representative, at the administrator’s discretion.
ICE also publishes these conditions for NSGB (checked October 20, 2026):
- Case information: requests go to the ERO field office where the case is docketed; ICE adds that “this mailbox does not accept applications for Stay of Removal or Case Appeals.”
- Deportation Officer: ICE directs identification requests to the ERO field office where the case is docketed. A G-28 must be on file for any information to be disclosed.
- Emailed legal correspondence: ICE says legal representatives can send legal correspondence to Legal.GTMO@ice.dhs.gov, attaching the documents for delivery (which “should generally not exceed 20 pages,” with longer requests “considered on a case-by-case basis”); ICE says the email “should include” a cover sheet with the person’s full name, A-Number, the sender’s return fax number, the total number of pages and the notation “Legal Mail.” The documents “will be inspected for contraband, but not read” and are then delivered to the detainee. ICE says legal electronic communication requests are processed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST, excluding holidays.
