How to find someone held here
The ICE Online Detainee Locator System is the ICE lookup resource. The Sheriff’s jail information page lists 608-355-3210 as the jail phone. As of October 23, 2026, the Sheriff’s pages do not publish an individual inmate search; the county’s Daily Inmate Counts page is an aggregate count, not a person search.
Visiting
The Sheriff’s visiting page says visitors must be 18 years of age to register or participate, and that all visits use GTL video visitation. Both onsite and remote visitors require an account through GettingOut.com. Visits may be monitored and recorded.
- At the facility: 15-minute video visits, Tuesday thru Friday, 9:00am – 10:30am; Tuesday thru Thursday, 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
- From home: daily, 9am – 11am, 12:30pm – 2:15pm, 3pm – 4:15pm, 6pm – 9pm.
Money, phone calls and mail
Phone accounts and commissary. The Sheriff’s information page lists 1-866-230-7761 or https://web.connectnetwork.com/ for family and friends to set up a prepaid phone account for themselves. Money placed on the lobby kiosk lets the inmate buy phone minutes. The same page lists https://deposits.jailatm.com/webdeposits/ for commissary orders.
Mail. The visiting page gives this address:
Sauk County Jail, WI
Inmate’s Full Name, Inmate Number
P.O. Box 247
Phoenix, MD 21131
It requires the complete facility name (no abbreviations) and state, the inmate’s full name and number, and the sender’s full name and physical address. It says not to send checks, money orders or attorney-client privileged mail through this mailing channel. The Sheriff’s jail FAQ prohibits greeting cards, including cardstock materials.
Oversight and inspections
The 2026 ODO report describes an inspection from April 8 to May 7, 2026, including an onsite visit on May 7, 2026. It applied USMS Federal Performance Based Detention Standards (FPBDS) (May 2025) and found no deficiencies.
The Sheriff’s PREA information page lists 608-355-3474 for reporting sexual misconduct from outside the facility.
