How to find someone held here
ICE provides the Online Detainee Locator System. The Sheriff’s mail page says an inmate’s ID number and housing location can be found under Inmate Lookup; as of October 23, 2026, the lookup page does not establish whether ICE detainees appear in its results.
Visiting
The Sheriff’s information page requires visitors to register online or through the jail-lobby kiosk. The visiting page says all visits must be scheduled prior to 11:00 p.m. for next-day availability; appointments made after that time must be rescheduled for an alternate day.
The on-site rules say video appointments may be scheduled, modified or cancelled not less than 1 day to no more than 14 days in advance, through smartinmate.com; scheduling questions go to (727) 349-1561. Available times depend on housing location, classification and station availability.
Those rules allow no more than 2 visitors to check in, with only 1 visiting at a time. Minors are not permitted in the visitation area or lobby waiting area. Accepted picture identification is limited to a valid Florida or other state Driver’s License, valid State I.D, valid passport or valid military I.D. Visitors must arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start; a visit may be canceled if they do not.
Conflicting remote-visit charges, as of October 23, 2026. The visiting page lists two free hours of visitation per week, then 17¢ per minute after those hours or for remote visitation, with prices subject to change. The on-site rules instead say all local visits are free and each inmate may receive two free one-hour remote visits per week. The two pages do not give a consistent remote-visit price.
Money, phone calls and mail
Money and calls. The Sheriff’s information page says money is receipted and deposited into individual inmate accounts on entry, and commissary orders are available. As of October 23, 2026, that page does not publish deposit instructions. The telephone and tablet page identifies Smart Communications prepaid calling options and directs tablet funding to smartinmate.com.
Privileged mail. The mail page prints this format:
Inmate Name (example: John Doe)
ID Number
Housing Location
St. Lucie County Jail
900 N Rock Road
Fort Pierce, FL 34945
Personal mail. The same page prints a separate destination:
Smart Communications / St. Lucie County
Full Inmate Last Name - Inmate ID Number (Example: John Doe #123456)
P.O. Box 9120
Seminole, FL 33775-9120
It requires the complete facility name and state, inmate’s full name and identifier, and sender’s full name and physical address; only personal letters, pictures and drawings belong in this channel. The page also says checks, money orders and attorney-client privileged mail must not be sent to a new Phoenix, MD address, although its printed personal-mail destination is Seminole. That reference remains inconsistent as of October 23, 2026; it does not establish a different usable mailing address.
Oversight and inspections
The Sheriff’s information page says the jail follows Florida Model Jail Standards and is accredited by the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission and the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare. It publishes 772-672-8582 as the Medical Unit’s dedicated line for inmate family members.
ICE’s ODO inspection index, read October 23, 2026, lists no report under this facility’s name.
