ITIN (Form W-7) help at this office
- In-person ITIN document review: the IRS page IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers providing in-person ITIN document review (marked “Page Last Reviewed or Updated: 24-Aug-2026”) names Sacramento in its California list. The IRS says TAC employees can review original documents and certified copies from the issuing agencies required to apply for and renew ITINs, for primary and secondary applicants and their dependents, and that the documents are returned at the end of the appointment.
- IRS list of TACs with ITIN services: the IRS page IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers with ITIN services (marked “Page Last Reviewed or Updated: 25-Mar-2026”) lists Sacramento under California. The IRS says a TAC with ITIN services can review a completed Form W-7, authenticate most supporting documents, return authenticated documents at the end of the appointment and mail the ITIN application package. Its footnote adds: “Taxpayer Assistance Centers can authenticate all documents for ITIN applicants who appear in person, except for school and medical records for dependents. These must be mailed with the ITIN application package.”
- Locator service list: includes “Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers and Form W-7” for this office.
IRS-listed acceptance agents with an address in Sacramento
The IRS acceptance-agent list for California (acceptance agents - California, read October 20, 2026) shows 17 agents with a Sacramento address: 17 certifying acceptance agents and 0 acceptance agents (the IRS marks acceptance agents with an asterisk).
The IRS acceptance agent program page compares the two: a certifying acceptance agent helps complete Form W-7, authenticates supporting documents (except foreign military ID cards and any documents for dependents that aren’t passports and birth certificates) and returns them immediately; an acceptance agent helps complete Form W-7 and reviews and mails supporting documents. “Fees for service may vary,” the IRS says. Agents are private businesses; this site has no tie to any of them and earns nothing from this list.
With more than 12 agents in Sacramento, we do not reprint them here; the IRS state list linked above shows each name, address and phone.
