USCIS Nebraska Service Center
The Nebraska Service Center is one of the five USCIS service centers in the Service Center Operations Directorate (SCOPS). Its receipt numbers start with LIN, and USCIS lists Lincoln, Nebraska P.O. boxes for two kinds of mail. One box receives Form I-360 petitions from Iraqi and Afghan translators, interpreters and employees. The other receives inquiries on VAWA, T and U cases with a LIN receipt number. In the USCIS caseload files, most of its pending Form I-485 applications sit in the “Others” column, which covers HRIFA and trafficking- and crime-victim applications.

The two Lincoln P.O. boxes
P.O. Box 87485: Iraqi and Afghan special immigrant petitions. The USCIS Form I-360 filing-address page (last reviewed October 7, 2026) lists two groups of petitioners for this box. The first is an Iraqi translator, interpreter, or employee who worked for or on behalf of the U.S. government. The second is an Afghan translator, interpreter, or employee who worked for or on behalf of the U.S. government or the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). The page says concurrent Form I-485 filing is not allowed for these petitions and that the petition may be scanned and emailed. It also says that a petitioner who submits by email must bring the same original, signed Form I-360 to the consular interview.
P.O. Box 87918: Service Center Operations correspondence. The USCIS Contact Us page (last reviewed December 22, 2025) lists this box for signed written inquiries on VAWA, T and U cases with a receipt number beginning with LIN. The USCIS change-of-address page for VAWA, T and U cases gives the same box for a signed Form AR-11. For a Form I-751 abuse waiver, that page lists this box whenever the receipt notice shows the address of any of the five service centers in the bottom left corner.
What the service centers do
USCIS says its service centers handle “petitioners and applicants who do not require interviews” (SCOPS page, July 17, 2026). The work is organized in business, family, humanitarian, and students and exchange visitors product lines. The SCOPS page lists the product lines but does not say which center handles each one. A USCIS presentation (March 2021) says cases can be transferred between service centers and field offices “if more evidence or interviews are needed.”
I-485 and I-130 cases: April 1 - June 30, 2026 (FY2026 Q3)
Each quarter USCIS publishes, by office, how many Form I-485 applications and Form I-130 petitions were received, approved, denied and left pending. Its tables carry a row for the Nebraska Service Center (code NSC in the file):
| Form and category | Received | Approved | Denied | Pending on June 30, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I-485, adjustment of status (all) | 6,608 | 1,068 | 180 | 42,805 |
| — family-based | 26 | 0 | 0 | 823 |
| — employment-based | 499 | 337 | 51 | 4,660 |
| — humanitarian-based (asylee, refugee, Indochinese and Cuban refugee) | 0 | 0 | 0 | 228 |
| — other (includes HRIFA, trafficking and crime victims) | 6,083 | 731 | 129 | 37,094 |
| I-130, petition for a relative (all) | 1,256 | 7,391 | 3,557 | 20,388 |
| — immediate relatives of U.S. citizens | 816 | 5,129 | 2,244 | 13,004 |
| — all other relatives (family preference categories) | 440 | 2,262 | 1,313 | 7,384 |
- I-485 pending: 42,805, or 2.7% of the 1,560,290 pending nationwide; rank 2 of the 6 center rows (1 = the most pending).
- I-130 pending: 20,388, or 0.8% of the 2,404,546 pending nationwide; rank 2 of the 6 center rows (1 = the most pending).
"D" means USCIS does not publish that figure ("Disclosure standards not met"); "-" (zero) shows here as 0. Per USCIS's notes, some cases approved, denied or pending may have been received in earlier quarters; "pending" means awaiting a decision at the end of the quarter, and the report does not reflect some actions, such as administrative closures and transfers between offices. The share (rounded half-up to one decimal) and the rank are our own arithmetic on the same figures. The "6 center rows" are the five service-center rows plus the National Benefits Center row: the I-485 file prints them together; the I-130 file prints only five rows under "Service Center by State" and places the NBC row in its Missouri block, so the six-row I-130 grouping is ours. Processing times
The USCIS processing-times data reports service-center work as one office, “Service Center Operations (SCOPS),” with no separate Nebraska figure. Follow a specific case in the USCIS case status tool.
